RESCUE AND SURVIVAL LIFERAFT FOR PRIVATE AERONAUTICAL USE - ULTRA LIGHT - 4 or 6 Places
EUROPEAN MANUFACTURING
YOU WILL NOT FIND THE SAME OR AN EQUIVALENT AS LIGHT IN AVIATION STORES IN FRANCE.
Ideal for long flights of water, the specifically designed Leisure Raft is a high quality single line liferaft. It is the perfect weight/use ratio for those who don't need a much heavier full size liferaft. It is the smallest, lightest and least expensive liferaft on the market. The Leisure-Raft, with its mini weight, allows easy deployment by rope throw, its compact size allows easy storage in the smallest spaces.
- CO2 cylinder approved by TPED (Certification: EN ISO9809/TPED/CE) for easy transport (TPED = Transportable Pressure Equipment)
- Thermobonding technique that ensures extreme durability and reliability.
- Highly resistant fabric: flexible and robust Cordura polyester
- Compact water-activated LED light, SOLAS approved.
- OPTION: Canopy
This is now an extremely popular choice for all pilots and their passengers concerned about their safety during marine overflights. It is the perfect canopy for ultralights and airplanes because of its small size and weight and for all those who want to make long flights over water.
Even if this specific equipment is not declared mandatory by law, it is crucial for your safety in case of emergency and prolonged stay in cold water.

The volume and the temporary folding after deflation, in case the liferaft has been inflated, is very easy to ship, but it will be necessary to have it inspected by an authorized station (we can manage this control for you).
This inspection is recommended every 3 years.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not repack or rearm the liferaft by yourself. It is designed to fold and fit in the case in a certain way. Only authorized service stations should repack and inspect this life raft.
The outer shell is made of soft and strong Cordura Polyester, it resists friction well. The canoe has a small pocket to store the knife, the marine anchor, the inflation pump, (WARNING: There are no flares, no mirror, no fluorescein, no oar(s), no survival ration or first aid kit.... These accessories must be purchased separately, some are in the Aerodiscount catalog. For the others, iIf you ask us through the contact section, we can provide them to you). Therefore this Liferaft is considered as LESS THAN 24 HOURS RECUE TIME. These accessories must be purchased separately,. By asking us through the contact form, we can provide them to you).
IN SUMMARY:
This innovative liferaft is the result of our supplier's expertise of over 38 years in manufacturing mainly marine safety equipment.
Low cost, recommended service interval of 3 years
Manufactured in the EU
It is the smallest, lightest and best value for money on the market.
Extremely compact size allows for easy storage both in an airplane or ultralight and when not in use and stored dry at room temperature and away from light.
Ideal for coastal and cross-country over sea navigation
Quick and easy deployment, ensuring safe and immediate boarding without loss of energy or body temperature.
If the canopy option is taken, you will be protected from chop, waves and spray, allowing you to keep your body heat better.
ISO approved PU fabric and ISO approved inflation system to the highest standards
Thermal bonding technique that ensures extreme durability and reliability
Light weight (see table following configuration)
2 water pockets - ballast bag that guarantee the stability of the boat in delicate weather or climatic conditions, strong swell.
A sea anchor connected to the liferaft limiting the drift with 10 m of rope
Lifeline that does not slip from the hands allowing to hold on
External strap allowing to embark easily and can be used as a towing device
Lashing rope.
A survival knife attached to the canoe, floating, with a fixed blade and rounded ends to avoid damaging the raft in case of accident.
Righting Device Used by a person to right the liferaft in the event it capsizes.
This life raft is for UML (Limited to Standard Manual Operation) use only. It does not automatically activate on contact with water. It complies with aeronautical recommendations (not to be blocked in the cockpit). If the lifeboat inflates unexpectedly, only manual operation is possible and it inflates only when the outer rope is pulled voluntarily. The person who is to be freed from the activation of this liferaft inflates. It is recommended if possible to throw it from the plane if it floats
The manufacturer indicates and it is important to note that the "leisure-Raft" does not comply with any ISO (International Organization for Standardization), SOLAS (except for the flashing light) for Safety Of Life At Sea (SOLAS) regulations. The main purpose of the SOLAS Convention is to specify minimum standards for the construction, equipment and operation of ships, consistent with their safety. It applies only to passenger ships and merchant ships engaged in international voyages) or USCG (US Coast Guard, certification body)
It is, however, CE approved
IMPORTANT NOTE : THE LIFE SPAN OF A LIFEBOAT IS 15 YEARS
The inner tube is made of polyurethane film, which provides lightness and resistance. Each raft is subjected to a battery of tests of effectiveness in situation (Buoyancy, Turnover, Traction?) on a very broad panel of conditions in order to take account of the weights and the various constraints. The manufacturer is European, serious, important and with soon 40 years of presence on the market and manufacture of rafts and jackets
Technical Information for Use and Carrying :
Legislation requires the use of life jackets when flying over water if your gliding distance does not allow you to reach land safely. The carriage of a lifejacket with standard integrated equipment is mandatory as soon as the aircraft is required to be at a distance from a coastline greater than: 100 NM or 30 minutes of flight at Vi cruise for single-engine aircraft; - 400 NM or 120 minutes of flight at Vi cruise for multi-engine aircraft.(Oct 18, 2013)
Reminder : If your gliding distance does not allow you to reach the ground safely, life jackets must be worn, not inflated, by each occupant for the entire flight. (From the new Marine Semi-Offshore and Offshore regulations division 240 applicable to aeronautics see 2nd section of division 240 (articles 240-2.04 to 240-2.16 + appendix 240-A01). ) https://www.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/Mise-a-jour-de-la-division-240.html which also requires you to carry an emergency beacon on board the aircraft and a VHF radio with its waterproof case https://aerodiscount.com/en/airband-radios-accessories/627-waterproof-case-for-portable-radio.html . As a precaution, Aerodiscount recommends that you carry a portable emergency VHF radio (https://aerodiscount.com/en/radios-accessoires/323-rexon-rhp-530-nav-com-airband-transceiver-en-833mhz-avec-vor-surveillance-bi-bande-et-bluetooth-optionnel.html) as well as a waterproof portable beacon with its flotation cover ( https://aerodiscount.com/en/safety-life-jackets/624-individual-detection-beacon-acr-resqlink-400-406-mhz-with-gps.html ).
CAA Approved, or not CAA Approved?
For public transport, under an Air Operator Certificate (ICAO), CAA - FAA approved models are essential, (EASA has not yet pronounced itself and follows the FAA on the subject) but in private aviation no indication is given on the type of approval for life rafts and survival craft and as far as the DGAC is concerned no note or document specifies that life rafts in private and recreational aviation must be approved. The main thing is that they work in case of an accident.
Common sense dictates that they should only be inflated by a manual action.
In order to be seen during the day, a bright color is required, and at night, an automatic light is needed.
Carrying a lifeboat does not exempt you from wearing life jackets INCLUDING INSIDE THE RAFT
You will then have a whistle to be heard in the dark, in rough seas or in fog. Try to whistle with wet lips for only 5 minutes, you will not be able to do it after that time. You will also have individual SOLAS lamps.
SERVICING
Maintenance and service on a life raft is very important and should not be neglected.
It is essential to check that the life raft is in perfect working order so that it will not let you down when you need it most (this is even more important than the life jacket as the life raft definitely extends the life in the marine environment).
